When I started my first business, my lawyer friend told me:

Who is Phil ORE?? ✶
Over the last 10 years I’ve enjoyed coaching 1000’s of startups for organisations including SXSW Sydney, Inspiring Rare Birds, Uber and The Startup Network. I have mentored student founders at universities and institutions including UNSW, La Trobe University and the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, worked with corporates and SMEs, and ran pitch programs and innovation competitions programs government (Federal/ State/ Local).
My Father in Law said to me last year “Life is an apprenticeship up until this exact point” and it’s so true. I believe that how you end up where you are now is linked to my theory - HACKING SERENDIPITY = ACTION + LUCK. Basically the ‘luck’ doesn’t happen unless you take some action!
My knowledge and experience has come from starting life as an apprentice engineer for British Rail, spending 17 years at Nokia leading global teams (Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Corporate Affairs, Brand) and being MD for a Brand Consultancy before starting my own business. Not all of this was ‘perfect’, but I was always learning. When I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut thanks to my love of the Star Wars movies………..might have left that dream a bit late now though! :).
I am also an Industry Advisor, on behalf of AusIndustry for the Industry Growth Program, helping innovative companies working in key priority areas (Medical Science, Renewables, Defence, Transport, Resources, Agriculture, Enabling Capabilites) commercialise and grow.
